Kids' TV film premiere

‘Sol’ is a film about a boy’s journey through grief which premiered on the 2020 Winter Solstice. With seven TV broadcasters all premiering 'Sol' simultaneously, producer Paper Owl Films wanted to drive tune-in across national and regional audiences.

Our Role

  • Co-ordinate PR for ‘Sol’, liaising with seven broadcasters & funders
  • Create an overarching campaign to drive tune-in amongst UK families
  • Generate a social media campaign around #RemembertheLight
  • Promote the film’s relevance after a year of loss and grief

Our Approach

Via our online press hub, we liaised with broadcasters, distributors and funders to generate national and regional coverage, including cast interviews and tune-in slots.

We leveraged UK and Irish children’s grief awareness weeks, provided interactive assets to parenting influencers and created sharable social content plus Youtube ads to promote the trailer.

Our Results

  • 40 items of press coverage, total estimated reach 2.5m
  • Top consumer feature: review in The Sunday Times Culture
  • 153.3k reach from organic influencers, plus 52k+ social impressions
  • ‘Sol’ premiere a success; Aardman now selling the film internationally
